A drummer
Due to the rise in electronic and digitally created music,
real acoustic drums are used less in modern music. As a result of this, there
has been a decline in professional drummers as they are being replaced by prats
on a laptop that have never sat behind a drum kit.
Being a second-generation drummer, it was important to me
that I expressed my passion for the instrument by exploring what I love about
drumming and what sets it apart from its digital counterpart to inspire other
people to hit the drums.
A series of 6 posters that explored the feeling of
expressive, unrestrained emotion through rudiment sound vibrations that
only acoustic drums are powerful enough to make, visually voiced by expressive,
sporadic mark making and bold risograph printing. All posters feature the paradiddle rudiment (right, left, right, right), which are your first steps in becoming a drummer.
